Borderlands Restoration Leadership Institute (“the Institute”) is a collaborative effort of multiple organizations that have come together to foster a “restoration economy” in which diverse livelihoods support and restore healthy natural systems and support prosperous and vibrant communities in the US – Mexico borderlands. The Institute provides a year-around restoration fellowship and internship program, a summer field school with world-class faculty, and an organizational home where organizations, communities and individuals work together on cutting-edge programs and projects.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Development and Communications Specialist to manage our external and internal communications, media (social, print, etc.) and public image, and development communications.
The successful candidate will be working in an innovative organizational structure that includes: a non-profit and social for-profit entity; additional partner organizations; a program group of faculty and field staff drawn from BRLI partners and elsewhere who both do the work and teach the work; and a development group to expand existing public and private grants, individual and corporate donations, private investments, and, increasingly, earned income.
Reports to: Institute Director
Geographic Location: this position is based in Patagonia, AZ. Employee must be located in Patagonia or close enough to be physically in Patagonia throughout the work week and occasionally for some weekends.
