Borderlands Habitat Network, 501c3
Borderlands Habitat Network (BHN) is a 501c3 public charity created in 2014 to support and expand collaboration among its founding organizations, Cuenca Los Ojos, Borderlands Restoration, Deep Dirt Institute and Wildlife Corridors, and other organizations and individuals working in the borderlands to restore and sustain healthy natural systems and a restoration economy. Borderlands Habitat Network and its founding organizations were approached by the Biophilia Foundation in the spring of 2016 with an opportunity to develop a world class training institute, drawing on their combined restoration knowledge and extensive field work. In 2017, at the request of the founding organizations, Borderlands Habitat Network created a non-profit subsidiary, Borderlands Restoration Leadership Institute, LLC, a non-profit entity that serves as the organizational home for the Institute’s activities and provides for continuing collaboration among multiple organizations dedicated to the Institute’s mission.
Borderlands Habitat Network supports the Borderlands Restoration Leadership Institute, LLC, by providing a community-based board of directors to help guide Institute activities, by providing administrative oversight, and by assisting in securing private and public grants as well as corporate, foundation and individual donations to further the Institute’s mission and vision.
